Lu Ella Loken Larson was born on February 2, 1911, in Clarkfield, Minnesota, to Lars and Marie Loken. She was baptized and confirmed at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church. She graduated from Clarkfield High School as the Valedictorian of her class. She later graduated from the Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, Minnesota. She was employed at the Clarkfield Memorial Hospital until her marriage to Gustav R. Larson. They then moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where Lu Ella died on Saturday, August 18, 1979, at the age of 68. Lu Ella is survived by one daughter: Mrs. Dennis (Kathryn) Bastyr of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota; two granddaughters: Kristin Marie and Michele Lee; one sister, Minnie Axeline of Oelwein, Iowa; one brother, Elwyn Loken of Clarkfield; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Nora Loken of Clarkfield and Mrs. Hulda Johnson of Minneapolis; also many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Lu Ella was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers: Albert, Ludwig and Marvin; and two sisters; Louise and Clara. Blessed be her memory!
