Selma Tollefson Dotseth, 88, passed away at her apartment in Prior Lake on Sunday, February 11, 1996. Memorial services for Selma Dotseth will be held at the Lynner Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 14, 1996. Music will be provided by the family. Pallbearers are her sons and family members. Private burial will be held prior to the Memorial Service at the Clarkfield City Cemetery. Selma Dotseth was born January 22, 1908 to Andrew and Ragnhild Tollefson near Starbuck, MN. Selma graduated from Moorhead State Teachers College in 1930 as a certified teacher. She taught in rural schools in Minnesota for eleven years near Starbuck, Clarkfield and Willmar. She participated in a summer program with the Norwegian Lutheran Teachers Association of America and taught both Vacation Bible School and Summer School for a church in Montana. She met Owen Dotseth while teaching in Yellow Medicine County and they were married on April 26, 1941 at the Vinje Lutheran Church of Willmar. She lived with Owen, as a housewife, in the Clarkfield area until his death on November 14, 1989. She continued to live on the farm southwest of Clarkfield until September, 1992, when she moved to Prior Lake, MN, near her family. They had five children. She is survived by son, Paul Dotseth of Los Angeles, CA; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Wanda of Eagan and Charles and Alison of Jordan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sylvia and Tom Nash of LaMirada, CA and Maxine and Steve Levy of Philadelphia, PA; 19 grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters, Agnes Gillberg of Minot, and Lillian Tollefson of Starbuck. Selma was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Alfred and Levine; sisters, Clara, Mable, Thelma, Anna, and Ruth; and a grandchild Caleb Dotseth.
