Selma Tonnata Brenden was born in Albaton, Iowa, on December 1, 1886, to Helge and Marit (Dokken) Brenden. She was baptized January 30, 1887, in the Skien Lutheran Church by Rev. T.H. Fossum and confirmed in the same church on October 6, 1901, by Rev. K.J. Wang. The family moved to Minnesota in the year 1904 where they joined the St. Lucas Lutheran Church of which she remained a member until her death. For a time she served as church organist and was a life member of the St. Lucas Aid. On June 27, 1912, she was united in marriage to Anton J. Anderson. This union was blessed with one daughter, Myrtle (Mrs. Ordell Lovsness) of Hanley Falls, Minnesota. Mrs. Anderson passed away on March 7, 1962, having reached the age of 75 years. Left to mourn her passing are her husband; daughter, Myrtle; one brother, Alfred Brenden and two sisters, Minnie (Mrs. Carl Anderson) and Nettie (Mrs. Bernhard Mauland) of Cottonwood; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Hamlet and Eddie Brenden and one sister, Mrs. Oscar Mauland. IN MEMORY OF MRS. ANTON J.
