Selian Vagle, age 89, of Clarkfield, Minnesota, died Sunday, April 3, 1983, at the Clarkfield Care Center. He was born July 6, 1893, at Hanley Falls, Minnesota, to parents John and Martha (Haaland) Vagle. He was baptized and confirmed at Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church of Hanley Falls. He received his schooling at the Hanley Falls District School. Selian and Amanda Strum were united in marriage in Hanley Falls, Minnesota. His life's occupation was working for the Minneapolis - St. Louis Rail Road. He participated in the Hanley Falls Baseball League. Selian was survived by his two children: Avis Nykvist and Rodney Vagle of Eugene, Oregon; brothers, Malon of Hanley Falls and Ottis of Kansas City, Missouri; and sister Delia Olson of Hanley Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brothers, Peter, Julian and Norman; sisters, Ida and Selma.
