IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Scott Sherman
Winson
May 27, 1952 – September 10, 2024
Scott Sherman Winson was born on May 27, 1952, in Granite Falls, MN, to Sherman and Burdonna (Bruflat) Winson. He grew up on the Winson family farm just South of Clarkfield and graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1970 and attended St. Cloud State University. Later in life, he graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University Magna Cum Laude with 2 majors, which he was very proud of.
Scott was married to Tamara (Wilson) from 1975 to 1988 and had 3 sons: Eric, Justin, and Jarrid.
Scott wore many hats over the years, working for PPG in Marshall, substitute teaching, bar ownership, and farming with his father, Sherman and brother, Don. He was a creative jack of all trades, being very skilled in carpentry.
Over the years, Scott was well-known for his adventurous, fun-loving, joking spirit. He had a love of snow skiing trips out west, hunting, fishing, camping, cooking, motorcycling, and never disappointed with his obnoxious Halloween costumes. He dreamed big and loved his friends and family. His door was always open.
Scott passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at the St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 72. He is preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Burdonna; brother, Michael; aunt and uncles, Richard, Leland and Audrey Mccoy, William and Donna Bruflat; and grandson, Everett Winson.
He is survived by his stepmother, Joyce Winson; brother, Don (Brenda) Winson; stepbrother, Christopher (Marsha) Thompson; sons, Eric, Justin (Alaina), and Jarrid; grandchildren, Soren and Ariella Winson; nieces and nephews: Kirby Winson, Christina (Bob) Lemke, Amber Thompson, Conrad Thompson, Delicia Lynne, and Delsie Medrano; great nieces and nephew, Aubrey Gilb, Carlie Eliason, Tasha Niskanen, Makaylee and Gage Haroldson; and many cousins.
In accordance with Scott's wishes, no funeral service will be held.
