Sarah Grimley was born on May 22, 1892, in Tyro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the daughter of Hans and Anna Marie (Anderson) Rodness. She was baptized by Rev. Moen and confirmed at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church by Rev. Reinertson. For many years she was a beauty operator in Austin and Rochester, Minnesota. She also worked at a dress shop in Minneapolis for several years. On November 29, 1923, she was united in marriage to Clarence Grimley. They moved from Minneapolis to Clarkfield where they farmed for several years. Her husband passed away on June 3, 1960. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Anton and Martin. She will be sadly missed by her brother, Peter; and her four sisters: Hilma (Mrs. Henry Williams) and Mabel of Clarkfield, Lena (Mrs. Carl Fransen) of Minneapolis, and Nettie (Mrs. Raycraft) of California; and several nieces and nephews, besides a number of other relatives and friends.
