Sam L. Nordahl was born on March 9, 1895, at Dawson, Minnesota, to parents Lars and Sina (Oman) Nordahl. Eighteen years ago, the family came to Clarkfield where he assisted Clarence Rodness in road work. Prior to coming to Clarkfield, the family lived at Boyd, Minnesota, for twelve years. He and his daughter, Patricia, recently moved into the Valhalla Apartments where he was living when taken ill, and passed away Thursday, September 16, 1971, at the age of 76 years. Mr. Nordahl's health had been failing but his death shocked his friends and associates as he had been about town on Wednesday. He took seriously ill Thursday morning and shortly after reaching the hospital, he passed away. He is preceded in death by his wife, Agnes, on June 28, 1961; two sons and one daughter. His surviving children were all in attendance at the services, namely: one son, Samuel Nordahl, Jr. of Glendale, California; four daughters: Betty (Mrs. Robert Lorenzen) of Newburgh, New York, Donna (Mrs. Robert Kegg) of Los Angeles, California, Carol (Mrs. Walter Christensen) of Montevideo, Minnesota, and Patricia. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren; five brothers and four sisters. IN MEMORY OF SAM L.
