Sam O. (Buddy) Dahl, 58, of the Clarkfield Care Center and formerly of Cottonwood, died Friday, May 15, 1992, at Granite Falls Municipal Hospital. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 21, 1992, at the Lynner Funeral Home Chapel in Clarkfield, Minnesota, with Dr. Arthur Holmes of Christ Lutheran Church, officiating. Music was by Mr. Merril Wolmach. Pallbearers were Ole Dahl, John Harris, Steven Harris, Tina Harris, Larry Hoiland, and Ray Whipple. Burial was in the English Lutheran Cemetery of Cottonwood. Sam was born October 28, 1933 to Sam and Clenora Hoiland Dahl on the family farm near Cottonwood. Sam was baptized at the English Lutheran Church in Cottonwood. He attended school in Cottonwood. During Sam's life, he was a farm hand on many area farms, worked with Burlington Northern Railroad rail crew, Bladholms Tiling of Marshall, Marshall Rendering, and Swift Company. Sam enjoyed fishing, the Minnesota Twins, Vikings, and Timberwolves. Surviving Sam are his mother, Clenora of the Clarkfield Care Center; brother, Ole of Mankato, Minnesota; nephews, great nieces, aunts and uncles.
