Ruth Evelyn Willander was born November 2, 1910, to parents Edwin and Clara (Johnson) Willander in Tyro Township near Clarkfield, Minnesota. Ruth was one of 14 siblings. She was baptized and confirmed in Tyro Township. Ruth remained in the Clarkfield Community all her life. She was a member of the Clarkfield Assembly of God Church. Ruth worked several years at the Clarkfield Care Center. She also was a caretaker for many of her family members. She enjoyed cooking. Ruth moved to Valhalla Apartments about three years ago and remained there until her move to the Clarkfield Care Center about six weeks ago. Ruth passed away at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital, Montevideo, Minnesota, on Friday morning, February 17, 2006, at the age of 95 years, 3 months, and 15 days. She was the last of her siblings. She leaves to mourn, her sister-in-law Ethel Willander of Clarkfield and several nieces, nephews and many other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Clara Willander; her seven sisters: Cecelia (Art) Loose, Vira (Selmer) Nodschilder, Edith Willander, Bernice (Gerald) Johnson, Junette (Kenneth) Yeider, Mae (Glen) Larson, and Delphine (Luther) Johnson and six brothers: Reynold (Lula) Willander, Jesse Willander, Elsmore (Janis) Willander and Orin, Wallace, and Donald Willander.
