Ruth Agnes Osterman was born on December 9, 1930, in Winnebago, Minnesota, to parents John and Bessie (Gilson) Matteson. She graduated from Winnebago High School and Canby Vocational Technical College as a Medical Secretary. Ruth married Ronald Stengel on November 8, 1953. They were the parents of a son, Bruce, and a daughter, Saundra. Ronald passed away in 1993. She married Marvin Osterman on April 30, 2005. They were living in Montevideo, Minnesota, at the time of her death. Ruth was a member of the First Baptist Church in Canby, Minnesota. She served several positions in her church and community. She loved working with crafts and selling at Craft Shows. She was involved in the family genealogy. She loved Christmas and made it very special. She also loved entertaining and being with her family. Ruth passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2006, at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 75 years, 8 months, and 7 days. She is survived by her husband, Marvin of Montevideo; and her children: Bruce (and Chris) Stengel of Clarkfield, Minnesota, and Saundra (and Philip) Gustafson of Maynard, Minnesota. She is also survived by grandchildren: Jodi (and Peter) Gove, Michael Gustafson, Melissa Gustafson, Lisa Stengel and Andrew Stengel; her brother Harold (and Mary) Matteson; and sister Doris Cordes. She was preceded in death by her husband Ron; brother Lloyd Matteson; sister Dorothy Wallace; and granddaughter Kelly Gustafson. Blessed be her memory.
