Ruth Mclntire was born in Allerton, Iowa, to parents Harry and Iva (Courtney) Pattison on August 29,,1926. After completing high school she was in the Nursing Corp. Ruth married Lloyd Mclntire Sr. on July 11, 1948. They had a son and four daughters together. Ruth worked as an LPN, in nursing homes in Newton, Iowa, and Elmonte, California, over a period of 40 years until 1989, when she retired. She enjoyed bowling, reading, quilting, crocheting and embroidering. In 1989 she moved to Minnesota where she lived in the West Prairie Apartments in Cottonwood until she moved into the Clarkfield Care Center in 1999. Ruth passed away at the Clarkfield Care Center on Thursday, October 20, 2005, at the age of 79 years, 1 month and 21 days. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and a brother who died at birth. Those left to honor her memory are: sister Mary Kelsey of Valinda, California; and her family: her son Lloyd Mclntire (Maureen) of Rialto, California, and her daughters, Linda Broughton (Dennis) of Minneota, Minnesota, Lucia Ripley (Scott) of Ruthton, Minnesota, Patricia Brewers (Ed) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Evie Bielicke (Larry) of Iowa City, Iowa. She is also survived by grandchildren, Tina Maez (Rod), Jason Korman (Laurel), Joshua Brewers (Shannon), Jamie Korman (Amy), James Mclntire (Cynthia), Missy Brewers, Matthew Bielicke (Jessica), Justin Korman (Amy), Sarah Broughton (Earl), Shannon Bielicke and Amy Bielicke; and great grandchildren: Samantha, Ashley, Nicole and Kathleen Maez, Jayden Korman, Grace and Hannah Brewers, Alex, Hannah, Samantha, Jackson Korman, and Arianna Mclntire.
