Ruth Berg was born August 11, 1917, at Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, of the parents Soren and Anna (Tystad) Vereide. She was baptized by Pastor Loe and confirmed at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church, Minneapolis by the late Rev. Haldor Hodne. She attended Roosevelt High School of Minnneapolis, and was graduated from there in 1935. On September 26, 1936, she was united in marriage to Wilhelm Berg of Clarkfield at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church by the late Haldor Hodne. To this union six children were born: Carol (Mrs. Marlow Norum) of Willmar, Minnesota, Joyce, Charles, Marilyn, Margaret and Stanley. Mrs. Berg passed away July 5, 1960, at the Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis, at 42 years of age. After a brief illness, death came suddenly. Beside her husband, she is survived by her children and two grandchildren, Cynthia and Lois Norum; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Soren Vereide of Minneapolis; one brother, Kenneth, also of Minneapolis; a sister, Mrs. James Greene of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and two nephews and three nieces.
