Russell Quenemoen was born June 10, 1924 at home on a farm in Cerro Gordo Township of Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota, to Oscar and Julia (Krugerud) Quenemoen. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Lac qui Parle Lutheran Church. Russ attended school in district 13. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He married Lillian R. Swennes January 17, 1942. To this union three children were born: Lowell R. Quenemoen, Faye Lou Larson Johanson and Reed A. Quenemoen. They farmed al Watson and Milan, moving to Clarkfield in the fall of 1945 where he lived until his death. On May 5, 1962 he was married to Janet Harms of Canby. To this union one child was born, Richard E. Quenemoen. He is survived by wife Janet of Clarkfield; three sons, Lowell (Ruth) of Powell, Ohio; Reed (Sue) of Clarkfield, Minnesota, Richard (Sheryl) Big Lake, Minnesota; one daughter, Faye Lou (Dean) Johanson of Champlin, Minnesota; seven grandsons and one granddaughter; three great grandsons and three great granddaughters; two brothers: Omar of Dawson and Lester of Watson; six sisters: Rhoda Velleckson of the Madison Nursing Home; Mabel Gruchow of Montevideo; Josie Lindquist of Dawson; Juella Johnson of Madison; Glenda Dvergsten of Watson; DeLaine Lundy of Dawson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
