Ruby Mildred
(Lindblad) [Thompson] Flaa
August 13, 1910 – January 22, 1973
Ruby Mildred Lindblad was born on August 13, 1910, in Maxwell Township, Minnesota, to Axel and Ella (Neuman) Lindblad. She was baptized at her home in Maxwell Township, Minnesota in 1910. In 1925, Ruby was confirmed at the Mission Covenant Church near Dawson, Minnesota. Ruby was united in marriage to Olaf Flaa on April 4, 1931 near Dawson, Minnesota. Three daughters were born to this marriage: Eleanore, Ruth and Marlys. Olaf passed away on January 22, 1973. Ruby married Grover Thompson at Olivia, Minnesota on January 5, 1976. Grover passed away in April of 1988. Ruby was a homemaker most of her life. She also worked as a Nurses Aide at the Clarkfield Care Center and was a Home Health Aide in Montevideo. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Boyd and enjoyed the Ladies Aid. She also was active in the Maxwell Homemakers Club. Ruby passed away on Thursday morning, September 16, 1993, at the age of 83 years. She was at the Fairview-Southdale Hospital in Edina, Minnesota. She is survived by her daughters: Ruth (Marvin) Collier and Marlys (Howard) Mitling. She also is survived by nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She also is survived by brothers: Roy (Lilly) Lindblad; Arthur (Eldora) Lindblad; and sisters-in-law: Muriel Lindblad; Rose Lindblad; and Margery Lindblad. She is also survived by son-in-law Bill Ingran. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents: Axel and Ella Lindblad; brothers: Elmer, Melvin, Arnold, and Bernard Lindblad; and sister: Elsie Haugesag. Also preceding her were daughter: Eleanore Ingram; and great grandson: Dustin Zubrad; and husbands: Olaf Flaa and Grover Thompson. Blessed be her memory.
