Ruby Evangeline Gordon was born August 4, 1908, to Carl Axel and Emma (Knutson) Larson on the farm in Tyro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. She was baptized at the Spring Creek Lutheran Church and confirmed at the Israel Lutheran Church. She married Arthur E. Gordon of Clarkfield on October 25, 1928. They had three children, Ramona, Roger, and Arthur Jr. She was well known for her years of cleaning with her twin sister, Ruth, and her special kindness and caring for others. She was always there when one needed her. A favorite Bible passage of hers was, "I am the way, the truth, and the Life, No man commeth unto the Father but by Me." This was her standard of living. Ruby Gordon, at the age of 77, passed away Friday March 7, 1986, at the Clarkfield Hospital. Ruby is survived by her children, Ramona and husband Allen Cornelius of Clarkfield, Roger and wife Shirley of Garden Grove, California; Grandchildren, Diane (Loren) Norgaard, Trudy (Scott) Shaw, Karen (Mark) Renneke, Linda (Bennett) Lewison, and David Cornelius and wife Sharon; sixteen great grandchildren; sisters, Ellen Hanson of Madison, Minnesota, Esther (John) Kompelien of Minneota, Minnesota, Grace (Ray) Anderson of Willmar, Minnesota, Edith (Arne) Berg of Clarkfield, Gladys Soppeland of Clarkfield, and Dorothy (Merle) Nikolaisen of Clarkfield; Brothers Olaf and Velmin Larson of Clarkfield; Sisters-in-law, Charolette Larson of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Ruth (Willard) Johnson of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Brother-in-Law, Bayard Gordon of Montevideo, Minnesota; plus a host of nieces and nephews. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur Gordon; infant son, Arthur Jr.; twin sister, Ruth Nelson; and brothers, Emil and Lloyd Larson.
