Ruby (Dyrdahl) Halverson (November 9, 1915 ~ May 10, 2012) Ruby Dyrdahl Halverson was born November 9, 1915, the daughter of Mollia Gautefall Dyrdahl and Halvor K. Dyrdahl in Hazel Run, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Hazel Run Lutheran Church and attended public school in Hazel Run. Ruby married Russell Halverson April 4, 1937, at the Hazel Run parsonage by Rev. A. Haugland. To this union three infant sons were born and one son, Terry, living. Ruby was a kind, loving mother and wife and was busy at home, the Hazel Run Church, Ladies Aid, Sunday School teacher, 4-H leaders and Nurses Aid at the Granite Falls Manor. Russie and Ruby farmed all their married life until they moved to Granite Falls in 1969 and she has lived there ever since. They celebrated their Silver wedding, 40th, and Golden wedding anniversary with many relatives and friends attending. Ruby celebrated her 80th birthday, which her husband Russell and son Terry hosted at the 95th Club. She celebrated her 90th birthday at the Hazel Run Lutheran Church on November 12, 2005, hosted by Terry and granddaughter, Rachel, which she really enjoyed with so many relatives, neighbors and friends. Ruby especially enjoyed her Birthday Club of which she was a member for over 50 years, her Supper Club years ago, and the Wednesday morning coffee group. Ruby and Russie enjoyed some winters in Arizona and going to visit relatives in Minneapolis, Florida, Colorado, North Dakota, Kansas and Canada. Ruby passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2012, at the age of 96 years and 6 months. She leaves to mourn her loving son, Terry, and wife, Tina, and granddaughter, Rachel, who she thought was very special, of Avon, Colorado; sister-in-law, Bonnie Dyrdahl; nephews: Paul (Carol) Arneson, Albie (Yvonne) Dyrdahl Jr., Larry (Gerri) Dyrdahl, Don (Arlene) Mecklenburg, Maude Grabowski; and nieces: Gerry (Willie) Neiman, Janette Nygaard, Kathy (Max) Cameron, Lynda (Danny) Johnson, Lynnae (Denny) Decker, Lynette (Ron) Dotseth, Vina Karlowsky, Mary (Dirk) VanStralen, Margaret (Jim) Haupt, Karen Halverson, Elaine (Mark Wilson) Halverson, and Karla Pederson. Ruby was preceded in death by three infant sons; her loving husband Russell; her parents; sisters and brothers-in-law: Arda and Paul Barnett and Edith and Paul Arneson; and her brothers and sisters-in-law: Knute and Alvina Dyrdahl, Albie and Alma Dyrdahl; brother, Luverne Dyrdahl; and an infant sister. Russie's family, Jennie, Mabel, Olga, Ella, Hardine, Hermie, Herbert and Tommy's families were all very special to her. Ruby's many cousins who were so good to her were appreciated so much. Also, she leaves many great nieces and nephews who she was very fond of. She had so many neighbors and friends who also were very special and helpful. Most important her church and family were first and foremost in her life. Blessed be her memory.
