Obituary

Roy Dewey Olson was born June 3, 1898, at Parkers Prairie, Minnesota, of parents Andrew and Mathilda Olson. He was admitted to the Montevideo Hospital on July 4 and passed away July 5, 1975, after suffering a fatal heart attack. As an infant he was baptized at the Parkers Prairie Lutheran Church and as a young boy was confirmed at the same church. He grew to manhood on his parents farm together with his brothers and sisters. On June 6, 1929, he was united in Holy Matrimony with Helma Oftedahl, the wedding being performed at the Oftedahl farm home by Pastor Lokensgaard. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Helma; and son, Ramon, and wife Sally; four grandchildren: Shawn, Natalie, Darren, and Ingrid. He is also survived by four sisters: Ellen of Clarkfield, Elsie and Myrtle of Phoenix, Arizona, and Elizabeth of St. Paul, Minnesota; two brothers: Albert of Parkers Prairie, and Leonard of Battle Lake, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews.
