Rose Viessman July 14th, 1933 - May 12th, 2017 Rose Viessman, of Clarkfield and Dawson area, died Friday, May 12, 2017, at Johnson Memorial Care Center in Dawson at the age of 83. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at Clarkfield Lutheran Church in Clarkfield. Rev. Gwen Bohlke will officiate and interment will be at the Clarkfield City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 15 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church in Clarkfield. There will also be visitation at the church for one hour before the service on Tuesday. Rose Elizabeth (Wajer) Viessman was born July 14, 1933, at Dundee, MN the daughter of John, Sr. and Elizabeth (Rempt) Wajer. When she was four, she moved with her family to a farm south of Slayton, MN. Rose attended Flowing Well Country School and Slayton High School. On October 15, 1950, she was united in marriage with Clifford Viessman in Wilmont, MN. They lived in Wilmont, MN, Westbrook, MN, Primghar, IA, and Clarkfield, MN where Cliff was involved in trucking and Rose was very busy raising their family. In 1992, Rose and Cliff moved to Watson, MN to start ranching. The couple moved into Johnson Memorial Assisted Living in Dawson in November of 2011 and then to the Johnson Memorial Care Center. Rose enjoyed walking on the country roads, going to auctions, especially gun auctions with Cliff, gardening, trips to the casino, her two trips to Alaska and times spent with family on Pomme de Terre Lake at Elbow Lake, MN. She was a very devoted wife and mother and her grandchildren will always cherish her playfulness. Her heart, smile and twinkle in her eyes always welcomed everyone in. Rose was a member of the United Methodist Church in Montevideo. She delivered Meals on Wheels in Clarkfield and served as treasurer for many years at the United Methodist Church in Clarkfield. She is survived by her children: Linda (Jerome) Kosbab, Elbow Lake, MN, Wayne (Angela) Viessman, Gary, SD, Douglas (Darlene) Viessman, Mankato, MN, Randy (Cindi) Viessman, Gary, SD, David (Lorrie) Viessman, Gary, SD, Terry (Annette) Viessman, Grenville, SD, Barbara (Mike) Jorgenson, Clarkfield, MN, Sandra (Gary) Nelson, Dawson, MN, Alan Viessman, Montevideo, MN, Sandra Viessman (Clayton Amundson), New London, MN and Rodney Viessman, Gary, SD; 42 grandchildren; 78 great- grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Marlene Wajer, Slayton, MN and Delores Wajer, Lynd, MN; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband of 66 years Clifford December 28, 2016; son, Micky Viessman; grandson, Timothy Virgil Viessman; brothers: William, Lorens, and Harold Tunyman, John, Jr. and Kenneth Wajer; and sisters: Margaret Tuynman, Amanda Embree and Viola Lamb.
