Obituary

Rose Louise Loose Eggen was born June 9, 1922, at the home of her parents, Henry and Anna (Block) Loose in Tyro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. She was baptized June 9, 1922, by Pastor Bernhardt Luttman of Zion Lutheran Church and confirmed in 1936 at Zion Lutheran by Pastor Louis Rosin. Rose married Leonard Eggen on February 22, 1942, by Pastor Louis Rosin. This marriage was blessed with three children: Kathryn, Ronald, and Bonita. Rose and Leonard lived on their farm east of Clarkfield. Rose enjoyed spending the winter months in Texas over the last 20 years and had a special interest in playing her accordion and listening to music. Her family was always her first priority throughout her life and she expressed her love and concern in ways that were extremely unselfish, sincere, and truly from the heart. Being employed at the Clarkfield Community Hospital as a nurses aid for approximately 20 years of her life, Rose's dedication, compassion, and respect for others was experienced by many in the community. Rose passed away peacefully at their home on Wednesday morning, September 18, 1996, at the age of 74 years, 3 months, and 10 days. She is survived by her husband, Leonard, and children: Ronald (and Shirley) Eggen of Brookings, South Dakota, and Bonnie (and Don) West of Cambridge, Minnesota, and grandchildren: Todd, Rachelle, and Jade West and Robin McGreevy Eggen and Ryan Eggen and great grandchild, Maggie McGreevy. She is also survived by her brother, Rueben Loose of Eugene, Oregon, and many friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Kathryn, three brothers and two sisters. Blessed be her memory.
