Obituary

Ronald E. Donner December 3, 1936 ~ March 8, 2011 Ronald Emil Donner was born in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, on December 3, 1936, to Emil and Edna (Richard) Donner of Belview, Minnesota. Ronald was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Belview. He graduated from Belview High School. Ron was united in marriage on November 22, 1953, to Karen Omtvedt at First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Belview. To this union eight children were born. Ronald operated the family concrete business in Belview, Clarkfield and Renville for 40 years. For 15 years he drove truck for Cliff Viessman, Inc. In 2001 he began his battle with cancer. Ronald entered into his heavenly home on March 8, 2011, at the age of 74. Ronald, as a young man, enjoyed and excelled in many types of sports: football, basketball, baseball and track. He had a very playful competitive nature. He loved all kinds of games, especially cribbage, whist and buck. He loved trivia and always had a challenge question ready for five bucks. He enjoyed hunting and as he grew older enjoyed just watching wild life. Most of all he loved his grandchildren and spending time with them any way he could. He loved spending time in his home watching TV with his kitty, Patches, on his lap and eating home cooked meals. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Karen; three sons: Steven (Connie) Donner of Wabasha, Minnesota, Scott Donner of Clarkfield, Minnesota, Paul (Rebecca) Donner of Lakeville, Minnesota; five daughters: Debra (Robert) Roen of Reno, Nevada, Lorrie (David) Viessman of Gary, South Dakota, Pamela Adam of Redwood Falls, Minnesota, Kimberly (Randy) Haycraft of Fairmont, Minnesota, and Imogene Weinhold of Clarkfield, Minnesota; 20 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, David Wayne; mother Edna Ware; father Emil Donner; and one grandson Timothy Viessman. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts until the day we will all be together again. Blessed be his memory. Karen and her family thank everyone for their prayers, remembrances and support at this time. In Loving Memory of Ronald E.
