Obituary

Roger Wallace Hanson was born on a farm in Normania Township on January 8, 1918. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. Lucas Lutheran Church. Residing in Normania Township and in the surrounding area during his childhood, in 1941 he was united in marriage to Gladys Jeseritz at Wood Lake, Minnesota. In 1942 he entered the Armed Services, where he spent three and one-half years, part of that time overseas. After returning from the service he lived at Granite Falls until 1953 when he moved to Minneapolis. He worked in General Construction. Roger entered the V. A. Hospital in 1971 and remained there until July 2 when he was transfered to Luther Haven at Montevideo, where he passed away July 17, 1975, at the age of 57 years. Survivors include four daughters: Dianne (Mrs. Ed Thorpe), Linda, (Mrs. David Cushman) of Minneapolis, Geraldine (Mrs. Loren Clausen) of Sacremento, California, and Jean Kay of Las Vegas, Nevada; eight grandchildren; sisters: Elva (Mrs. Clarence Hoiland) of Clarkfield, Mabel (Mrs. Jack Skogen) of Granite Falls, and Ella Anderson of Hazel Run.
