Roger Paul Beecher was born June 27, 1942, at rural Canby, Minnesota, to parents Herbert and Jennie (Carlson) Beecher. He was the youngest of eight siblings. He was baptized at Providence Valley Lutheran Church, Providence Township, Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota, and confirmed, as an adult, at Spring Creek Lutheran Church. After high school, he worked for Dexon, an electronic company, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He then served four years in the United States Navy. Following his discharge, he returned to work for Dexon, which had relocated to Rush City, Minnesota. Roger returned to Granite Falls, Minnesota, about two years ago and lived with his sister, Janice, and brother, Virgil, for about one year. He then moved to Brookside Manor in Montevideo, Minnesota, due to his health. He loved golfing and fishing. While he was living at Brookside he enjoyed playing cards and pool with the residents. Roger entered the St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, Minnesota, about two weeks ago and was a patient there at the time of his death on Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at the age of 63 years and 23 days. He is survived by siblings: Lorraine Appleseth of Lino Lakes, Minnesota, Harriet Oman of Hollywood, California, Janice Beecher of Granite Falls, Minnesota, and Virgil Beecher, also of Granite Falls. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Leonard and Floyd; and sister Doris Anderson.
