Robert James Werner was born on August 19, 1939, at Trosky, Minnesota, to parents William and Louise (Houselog) Werner. He was baptized in the Catholic faith. Bob attended country school near Verdi, Minnesota. His father died when he was very young and he and his brothers had to help their mother with the farming. Bob married Joyce Jensen in the early 1960s. They were the parents of two children: Diann and James. They lived near Pipestone, Minnesota, for about one and one-half years. Bob was hauling milk at the time. He worked for Campbell Soup Company in Worthington, Minnesota, as the "lead man". There he met LaDonna Balster. They were married on August 24, 1968. To this union were born: Jeff and Melissa. While living in Worthington, Bob began working for Viessman Trucking. In 1969 the family moved to the Clarkfield, Minnesota area, while he continued working for Viessman Trucking until he retired in 2001. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and visiting with his friends at Cenex. He enjoyed his grandchildren and family and especially spending time with Cody. He was especially fond of farming and enjoyed helping people. Bob passed away on Monday, December 15, 2008, at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at the age of 69 years, 3 months and 26 days. He is survived by his wife, LaDonna, of Clarkfield and his children: Diann (Jeff) Cline of Fountain, Colorado, James (Kandi) Werner of Montrose, South Dakota, Jeff (and friend Amy) Werner of Montevideo, Minnesota, and Melissa (Joe) Phinney of Wood Lake, Minnesota. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Shelby and Makayla Cline, Brandi Gary, Billie Jean Lentsch, Jordan Werner, Amber Ward, Alisha and Cody Werner and Taylor, Kendall and Kallee Phinney; brother William Werner; sister Audrey Ann Werner and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Les Werner and sister Pearl Werner. Blessed be his memory.
