Robert Glen Nelson was born November 5, 1927, to Gertie and Nels Nelson on their farm in Lisbon Township. He was baptized and confirmed in Clarkfield Lutheran Church where he was a life long member. Except for two years in the army, he lived his entire life on the farm where he had a close working relationship with his nephew Mark Nelson. It was there in the house he was born in, that he met his early death on September 20, 1991. He graduated from Clarkfield High School and was a member of the American Legion Post of Clarkfield, Minnesota. Robert is survived by brother Harold and wife Bette of Montevideo, Minnesota; brother Orville and wife Sandra of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota; sister Carol McMahon and husband Richard of New Brighton, Minnesota; nieces and nephews, Cheryl Malzahn, Mark and wife Joyce Nelson, Cynthia Nelson, Dean Nelson, Thomas McMahon, Paul McMahon, and Molly McMahon. Grand nieces and nephews, Christine Malzahn, Kim Schwartz, Kevin Schwartz, and Mathew Malzahn. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Gertie and Nels Nelson and nephew Michael McMahon. Robert will be missed by family, friends and the Clarkfield Community. We will always remember his kind ways, wry humor and gentleness. He was a true Christian who loved everyone and everything God made. Blessed be his memory.
