Robert "Bob" Herman Kuhlmann, age 87, of Dawson, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, surrounded by his family.

Robert was born on September 16, 1937, in Montevideo, Minnesota, to Frieda Elise "Lizzy" and Gustav Kuhlmann. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Tyro Township, and graduated from Boyd High School in 1955.

He met the love of his life, Shirley Rolighed, and they married on May 7th, 1960, at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson, Minnesota. They were blessed with three children: Tom, Amy, and Ann. He served in the National Guard for six years. He started farming in 1958 and devoted his life to farming for over 60 years. Bob and Shirley moved to their farm west of Boyd in 1960 where they farmed together for 40 years. Bob enjoyed helping his son, Tom, farm for another 21 years. Bob and Shirley moved to Dawson in 2010.

Bob was a very devoted and active member of his church, Zion Lutheran, Tyro Township. He served on the Ten Mile Lake Township board, and served many years on the Boyd Farmers Elevator, Tri-Line Farmers Cooperative, and Prairie Grain Partners boards. Bob and Shirley enjoyed their travels to Europe, Hawaii, Alaska, and nine winters in Lake Havasu, Arizona. Bob's favorite pastime was his collection of toy tractors. He also loved his antique tractors, collector cars, and going to Car Club. Bob loved his family deeply and was so proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Shirley; his children, Tom (Kim), Amy (Ron), and Ann; forever cherished and remembered by his grandchildren, Mariah (Tyler), Zack (Savanah), Katarina (Aaron), Riley, Sophie (Austin), Dylan (Kali), and Ella; great-grandchildren, Cannon, Case, Cori, Savv, Sylvie; sister, Louise Busse, and his memory lives on with many of his nieces and nephews and their families.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Gustav and Lizzy; brother, Dennis; sister-in-law, Karen Kuhlmann, and brother-in-law, David Busse.

Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, August 19th, 2025, at 9:30 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, Tyro Township, followed by the funeral service at 11 AM. Private family entombment will be at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.
