Richard D. Lewis was born in 1932 to parents Vincent and Lillian (Lange) Lewis. He was confirmed in Balaton, Minnesota, on April 5, 1966. He attended rural country school in Murray County, Minnesota, until 1947. He graduated from Tracy High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy on October 10, 1951. He served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged on October 6, 1955. Richard lived in Clarkfield, Minnesota. He worked for AMPI in Clarkfield and Dawson from 1967 to 1991. At that time he retired due to his health. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and bowling. He especially enjoyed drives around Lac qui Parle Lake. He enjoyed being with his family and many friends. He delivered 'Meals on Wheels' and was a member of the Anderson-Tongen Post 559 American Legion of Hazel Run, Minnesota. Richard passed away at the Dawson Memorial Hospital, Dawson, Minnesota, on Tuesday, October 9, 2007, at the age of 74 years, 10 months and 13 days. He is survived by his children: Linda (Butch) Olson of Dawson, Minnesota, Ronald Lewis of Hastings, Minnesota, and Brandy (and Mark Barron) Enstad of Montevideo, Minnesota; and Granddaughter Kelly Lewis (Nick) Rhode of Sacred Heart, Minnesota; Grandson Paul Douglas Enstad of Granite Falls, Minnesota; and three Great Grandsons.
