June 11, 1888
Rhoda Bernice Bradley was born June 11, 1888, the daughter of William Hart and Fannie (Fletcher) Bradley at Lake Benton in Lincoln County, Minnesota. Her mother passed away after years of lingering illness when Bernice was only 16. She remained to care for her father until her younger brother, Lemi, had finished high school. The family included Bernice and two brothers, Lemi, who passed away a number of years ago, and Ben, now of Minneapolis. Mrs. Gough then went on to Winona Normal School after which she came to Clarkfield and taught her first two years. She then taught at Springfield, Minnesota, for two years and returned to continue teaching in Clarkfield. Earl and Bernice started their life together in the home near the village park where they remained until she was unable to be alone any longer. Mr. Gough passed away on April 17, 1957. Two sons were born to them, Bradley, who married Alice Gehant and resides at Media, Pennsylvania, and the parents of seven, and Robert, who gave his life during World War II. Mrs. Gough passed away Monday morning, February 17, 1969, at the Clarkfield Community Hospital, after an illness of several years, at the age of 80 years. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
