Fadness

Reuben A. Fadness was born June 12, 1914, at Rio, Wisconsin, to Olai and Olga (Hyne) Fadness. His mother died when Reuben was 15 months old. His aunt Alma and Clarence Wilson took him into their home and raised him as a member of their own family. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith and was a member of Bergen Lutheran Church. He served in World War II from 1942 to 1946 and was in Guam and the Philippine Islands. He married Hazel Olson on February 24, 1951, at the Hazel Run Lutheran Church. They have one son David. They made their home on the C.E. Wilson farm in Hazel Run Township. He farmed with his foster brother, Elmer, until 1965 when he had to quit due to his health. He passed away at the Clarkfield Community Hospital on July, 16, 1974, at the age of 60 years. Besides his wife, Hazel, and son David, he is survived by one sister, Ella Bostwick of Glendale, California; one brother, Ove of Lynnwood, California; five foster sisters: Mrs. Edna Weckwerth, Mrs. Arlene Torgerson, Mrs. Clarice Koepke, Ruby Wilson, all of Granite Falls, and Mrs. Ruth Long of Wood Lake, Minnesota; one aunt, Ruth Hendrickson of Rio, Wisconsin; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his foster parents, one sister, three brothers and one foster brother. IN MEMORY OF REUBEN A.
