IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Raymond
Rupp
August 8, 1911 – July 23, 2002
Raymond Rupp was born at Butterfield, Minnesota, on August 8, 1911, to Edward and Marie (Hubin) Rupp. He was born into a family that put a priority on serving the Lord and of his 12 siblings, eight were in the ministry or missionary work. He was educated in the Butterfield area schools and later attended the St. Paul Bible College in St. Paul, Minnesota, to prepare for the pastoral ministry. At the age of nine he put his faith in Jesus Christ and began a life devoted to serving the Lord he loved. Raymond became acquainted with Mable Neal, and as their relationship developed, they both sensed a call to a life of ministry and serving the Lord. On May 1, 1939, he married Mable Olivia Neal, daughter of John A. and Jennie (Anderson) Neal at their farm home near Murdock, Minnesota. To this union were born: Donald, David and Arlene. Soon, as a team, they found open doors to minister with the American Sunday School Union in summer Bible School and Sunday School ministries. They began pastoral ministry with the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Waubay, South Dakota. They subsequently served churches in Elk Mound, Wisconsin, Powersville and Ogden, Iowa, and Waterloo, Nebraska. They also served under the Evangelical Free Church of America in Benson, Minnesota. After retiring he continued to serve various churches on an interim basis. In 1967 they began a musical and speaking ministry in nursing homes in Kerkhoven and Benson. In 1983 they moved to Clarkfield, Minnesota, and continued to serve with a Bible study at the Clarkfield Care Center as long as their health would permit. Raymond passed away July 23, 2002, at the Clarkfield Care Center at the age of 90 years. He is survived by his wife Mable of Clarkfield, Minnesota; children: Donald (Linda) Rupp of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, David (Gay) Rupp of Clarkfield, Minnesota, and Arlene (Michael) Wallin of Elk River, Minnesota; brothers: Walter Rupp of Salem, Oregon, and Herbert (Mabel) Rupp of Eugene, Oregon; sister: Kathy (Donald) Young of Bear, Delaware; nine grandchildren: Jeff (Laura) Rupp, Pam (Charles) Smith, Mark Rupp, Aaron Rupp, Pauline (Tyrone) Spenst, Sarah (Erick) Harper, Mike Jr., Shawn, and Michelle Wallin; and four great grandchildren. Interment is at the Buffalo Lake Mission Covenant Cemetery in rural Murdock, Minnesota. Only eternity will reveal the many lives he has touched. To God be the Glory! Blessed be his memory.
