Raymond Fredrick Ohlson passed away Sunday, February 9, 1992, at his home in Granite Falls, Minnesota, at the age of 77 years, 5 months and 24 days. Ray was born August 15, 1914, at Ogden, Iowa (Boone County) to Fredrick Gunnar and Blenda Swanson Ohlson. He was baptized the same day. At nine months Ray and his parents moved to the Hazel Run area. He was confirmed June 13, 1928 by Rev. Anders Haugland at Hazel Run Lutheran. He attended District 28 School, rural Hazel Run, through the eighth grade. On December 9, 1939, he and Audrey Irene Blanch Anderson were married on the George O. Greseth farm in rural Hazel Run. To this union two children were born, Donna and LeRoy. Ray farmed all his life west of Hazel Run. A member of the Hazel Run Lutheran Church, Ray was a trustee and served as chairman of the Hazel Run men's supper for many years. He was a lifetime member of the Hanley Falls Agriculture Museum. Ray enjoyed throwing horseshoes, fishing and playing pinochle. He also loved reminiscing about his childhood with his grandchildren. Ray is survived by his wife, Audrey; daughter Donna and her husband Wendell Hartfiel of Bloomington, Minnesota; son LeRoy and his wife Brenda of rural Clarkfield; six grandchildren: Loren and his wife Denise of Frazier Park, California, Lane Hartfiel and his wife Nancy of Janesville, Minnesota, Lance Hartfiel of Burnsville, Minnesota, Taunja and her husband Brad Kelvington of Vermillion, South Dakota, Stacy and her husband David Hinz of Overland Park, Kansas, and Aaron Ohlson, Clarkfield; and three great grandchildren: Monica Hartfiel of Frazier Park, California, and John and Samuel Hartfiel of Janesville, Minnesota.
