Raymond William Fry was born on September 20, 1934, at Canby, Minnesota, to Frank C. and Isabelle (Jemmings) Fry. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Leo Catholic Church of St. Leo, Minnesota. Ray also attended the St. Leo Catholic Church Parochial School. On June 9, 1956, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Yackley at St. Peter's Catholic Church of Canby, Minnesota. Ray was engaged in the lumber and construction business in Clarkfield and Hanley Falls, Minnesota, for over 35 years. He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church of Granite Falls, Minnesota, and formerly Mayor of Hanley Falls, City Council member, and on the Hanley Falls Fire Department. On November 2, 1990, Ray was killed instantly as a pedestrian by an automobile in a hit and run accident at Arcadia, California, at the age of 56 years. Ray is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Hanley Falls; children, Karen and Dale E. Bladow of Hankinson, North Dakota, Laurie and Doug Gregoire and their children, Dominick, Jacob, Daryl and Rebecca of Cottonwood, Minnesota, Steve and Jill Fry and their children, Steven, Joseph, Brandon and Stephanie of Hanley Falls; Sandy and Billy Sharkey and their children, Tanya and Carl of Hanley Falls, and Greg Fry of San Diego, California; his mother, Isabelle Fry of St. Leo; one brother, Robert Fry of Taunton, Minnesota; three sisters, Mrs. Andy (JoAnn) Matthys of Marshall, Minnesota, Mrs. Sam (Bernice) Saiz of Rocky Ford, Colorado, and Mrs. Mel (Dolores) Raml of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and one brother-in-law, Leander Citrowske of St. Leo. Ray was preceded in death by his father, his grandparents, and one sister, Rose Mary Citrowske.
