Raymond L. Fierstein was born March 17, 1922, to parents Earl Leslie and Wava N. (Peters) Fierstein, at Gary, South Dakota, where he spent his boyhood years. He later moved with his family to Clarkfield, Minnesota. After serving in the United States Army from 1942 to 1946, mainly in the Pacific and Philippines, he married Virginia Harris of Boyd, Minnesota, on June 18, 1947. He died Tuesday, September 17, 1974, at his home in Marshall. Survivors include his widow; children: Michael, Glenn and Cindy Rae; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie; two granddaughters; two brothers: Donald of Ortonville, Minnesota, and John of Anoka, Minnesota; two sisters: Iona (Mrs. George Phillips) of Alameda, California, and Marie Mies of St. Paul, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews.
