Raymond Ralph Falkum was born at Clarkfield, Minnesota, in Friendship Township, on March 14, 1910 to parents Tom and Florence (Diggins) Falkum. He lived in the Clarkfield and Hazel Run area all his life. Raymond attended Country School District #23 and was a Charter Member of the Clarkfield Gospel Tabernacle. For most of his life, he was a farmer. He also was a truck driver and handy-man in various ways. As a young man, he played on a softball team. He still enjoyed watching ball games on TV. Raymond also liked to spend time playing the Hawaiian Steel Guitar. Raymond resided at Valhalla Apartments in Clarkfield for 12 years. He entered the Clarkfield Care Center on June 13, 1997, due to ill health. Raymond passed away at the Care Center on Saturday, October 11, 1997 at the age of 87 years, 6 months, and 28 days. Although he lived a quiet life, he had a strong faith in his Lord and Savior, which he expressed so clearly shortly before he passed away. Raymond is survived by three sisters: Gladys McLean of Clear Lake, Wl; Ethel Willander of Clarkfield, MN; and Marjorie Kvistad of Granite Falls, MN. He was preceded in death by grandparents; parents; brother Melvin; and three brothers-in-law: Bill, Jessie, and Philip; niece Beverly; grandnephew Joshua; and several cousins.
