Randie Susanna Nelson, age 90, passed away at the Willmar Health Care Center in Willmar, Minnesota, on December 11, 1986, where she had resided for the past five weeks. Randie was born on March 22, 1896, near Hazel Run, Minnesota. She was baptized on April 19, 1896, at home and was confirmed at the Bergen Church by Rev. Salhus. Her parents were Bert and Ellen (Otterness) Berg. Randie was united in marriage to William Nelson on February 28, 1917, and they farmed in the Clarkfield, Minnesota area most of their lives until they moved to Clarkfield. Randie loved to sew and was an excellant seamstress. She made many things for her family and others. Making quilts was one of her favorite hobbies. She was a member of the Clarkfield Lutheran Church where she was an "active member" of ladies aid. She had been a resident of Valhalla for six years and will be missed by her neighbors and friends there. Randie is survived by three sons and wives, Robert and Marian of Mendicino, Calfornia, Leroy and Joan of Willmar and Arvid and Marion of Trenton, Illinois; three daughters- in-law, Audrey, Yvonne and Greta; 19 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren; one brother, Stewart Berg; and four sisters, Edna Nelson, Clara McMahon, Frances Mork and Julia Stolen. She was preceded in death by her husband, William, and two sons, Leonard and Eldrid. Blessed be her memory.
