IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Randall
Hanson
June 5, 1898 – May 9, 1978
Randall Hanson, the son of Hans S. and Marie (Ness) Hanson, was born June 5, 1898, near Britt, Iowa, where he was baptized in the Lutheran faith. In 1902, Randall moved with his family to a farm in Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, near Clarkfield, Minnesota, where he attended the rural elementary school. He was confirmed by Rev. Romstad at St. Lucas Lutheran Church and he continued his membership there. When his parents retired from farming and moved to Dawson, Minnesota, in 1920, Randall remained on the farm and made his home with an older brother, Orville and his family. In 1953, two years after the death of his brother, he moved to Dawson where he spent some time at the homes of his sisters. In 1954 he moved to the Haukos Home near Madison. December 1, 1967, he became a resident of the Madison Lutheran Home. On April 27, 1978, he suffered a stroke and a broken hip. He passed away at the Madison Hospital on May 9, 1978, at the age of 79 years. He is survived by two sisters: Mrs. Hazel Moe and Hannah (Mrs. Jack Olson) both of Dawson, Minnesota; two sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; ten nieces and six nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Bertha; four brothers: Orville, Henry, Manford and Clifford; and two nephews: Duane and Glen Hanson.
