Ramona Cornelius was born November 21, 1929, to parents Arthur and Ruby (Larson) Gordon of Clarkfield, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church. She attended school in Clarkfield. On September 18, 1948, she married Allen Cornelius of rural Clarkfield. They farmed until 1971 when they moved to Clarkfield where they operated Mork's Hardware. Later she worked as a waitress in Clarkfield and Montevideo. In 1992 she went to work at the Clarkfield Care Center as a laundry aide. Ramona Jean Cornelius, age 65, passed away on Monday, August 7, 1995, at 11:36 a.m. at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital. She is survived by husband, Allen, of Clarkfield, and four daughters: Diane (Loren) Norgaard of Hazel Run, Minnesota, Trudy (Scott) Shaw of Rochester, Minnesota, Karen (Mark) Renneke of Northfield, Minnesota, and Linda (Ben) Lewison of Maple Lake, Minnesota; and son David (Sharon) Cornelius of Clarkfield. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Also surviving is brother Roger Gordon and wife Shirley of Garden Grove, California; aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Arthur Gordon, Jr., and grandparents.
