(Anderson) Haugen
October 17, 1895 – April 28, 1967
Perle Annette Haugen was born October 17, 1895, at Clarkfield, Minnesota, the daughter of Peter and Belle (Monson) Anderson. She was baptized by Rev. Farseth and confirmed by Rev. Larson in the Ebenezer Lutheran Church of Clarkfield. On December 2, 1917, she was united in marriage with Conrad O. Haugen of Clarkfield by Rev. O.T. Storaasli, and has resided on a farm in Lisbon Township of Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, since that time. To this union five children were born: Signe (Mrs. Willard Olson) of Minneapolis, Roland of Clarkfield, Beverly (Mrs. William Chappell) of Peekskill, New York, Lowell of Harlan, Iowa, and Richard of Clarkfield. Mrs. Haugen passed away Friday, April 28, 1967, at St. Barnabas Hospital in Minneapolis, at the age of 71 years. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Annette, who died in infancy, Prudence (Mrs. Waldemar Hemstad) of Montevideo, Minnesota, and June (Mrs. Donald Monson) of Clarkfield; four brothers: A. Ben of Veblen, South Dakota, Palmer of Summit, South Dakota, Earl of Flint, Michigan, and Henry of Veblen, South Dakota. In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by one brother, Harold Anderson of Duluth, Minnesota; three sisters: Henriette (Mrs. James Paulsen) of Clarkfield, Ione (Mrs. Tom Pasqua) of Whittier, California, and Enid Anderson of St. Paul Park, Minnesota; and 13 grandchildren. Mrs. Haugen was a member of the Clarkfield Lutheran Church, and until the time of her illness was active in Dorcas Circle of the Lutheran Church Women, the Lisbon Garden Club, the W.C.T.U. and the American Legion Auxiliary.
