IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Pearl Olive
(Johnson) Coover
February 15, 1925 – January 22, 2008
Pearl Olive Coover was born on February 15, 1925, to parents Carl and Alma (Simonson) Johnson in Cerro Gordo Township of Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at Borgund Lutheran Church. She attended country school in District 48. In 1943 Pearl graduated from Appleton High School and in the spring of 1943 went to Minneapolis where she worked at Sears and Bloom Brothers. On November 10, 1946, Pearl married Quinton Coover of Clarkfield, Minnesota. They were the parents of three sons: Larry, DuWayne and Curt. Quinton and Pearl resided on the family farm north of Minneota, Minnesota. Pearl loved her family, loved to garden and loved to teach her grandchildren how to bake. Spritz cookies and brownies were her specialty. She brought a "special light" into the lives of everyone she met with her kind and listening ears. Pearl passed away at Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, January 22, 2008, at the age of 82 years, 11 months, and 7 days. She is survived by her three sons: Larry (and Nancy) of Exeter, Rhode Island, DuWayne (and JoAnn) of Minneota, Minnesota, and Curt (and Mary) of Volga, South Dakota. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Melanie (and Jon Scott) Heaton, Todd (and Jen) Coover, Nicki (and Tony) Klanderud, Kristi (and Brad) Pederson, Kimberly (and Brian) Button, Kelli (and Jamie) Anderson, Karli (and Zach) Santjer and Derek Coover; two great grandchildren: Tori Coover and Karissa Pederson; and cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Quinton. Blessed be the memory of Pearl Olive Coover.
