Paul Wayne Nyland was born February 8, 1946, to Orville and Ruby (Hanson) Nyland in Granite Falls, Minnesota. On March 24, 1946, he was baptized at Hazel Run Lutheran Church. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in the same chruch on May 14, 1961. Paul has resided at his home in Hazel Run Township all his life and attended Granite Falls Public School. Paul passed away July 22, 1963, in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the result of an automobile accident, at the age of 17 years. He would have been a senior at Granite Falls High School in the fall. He was preceded in death by his mother, who passed away suddenly February 12, 1958. Surviving are his father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Nyland; a step-brother, Robert Rachie; two step-sisters: Susan Rachie and Mrs. Curtis Grave; a grandmother, Mrs. Olaus Nyland of Clarkfield; and also several aunts, uncles and cousins. Paul held membership in several organizations. His happy smile and friendly greeting will be greatly missed. IN MEMORY OF PAUL W.
