Patrick was born August 22, 1971, to Terri L Shaw and Mark A Long in Clarkfield, MN.  He was baptized and confirmed in the Clarkfield Methodist Church.

He grew up in Clarkfield and attended Clarkfield School, graduating from high school in 1990. He attended and received his diploma from Ridgewater College, received as Associate of Arts from Willmar Community College, and attended undergraduate classes from Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, MN.

Pat and Kimberly Holder were married in the Glenwood Lutheran Church, and they had two sons, Christopher and Samuel Long.  They later divorced, but Pat continued to have an active role in their lives.

Pat worked hard all his life.  A talented carpenter, he built and remodeled homes.  He also did flat concrete work and was a lead escort for Griess Mobile Transport for eight years.

On May 29, 2024, Patrick passed away in his home in Clarkfield of natural causes complicated by chemical dependency.

Patrick is survived by his parents, Terri (Jon) Thostenson and Mark (Carol) Long; ex-wife Kimberly Moe; brother, Eric M Long; step siblings Matt (Jamie) Roder, Tony Roder and Missy (Troy) Hoke; son, Samuel Ray Long;  aunts, Terry Long-Taylor, Kim Williams, Gail Shaw-Ruzicka and uncle, Kevin Williams; nephew Keegan (Skylar) [Long] Martin; great nephew, Motley Martin and great niece, Mari Martin, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Amy Jo Long; son, Christopher Reed Long; grandson, Isaiah James Long; grandparents, Bonnie and Dean Shaw, Geraldine and LeeRoy Williams, and Arthur Wm. Reed (Gayle) Long; uncles, Michael Shaw, Scott Shaw, and Tim Ruzicka; aunts, Trudy Shaw and Pamela Shaw, and cousin, Jennifer (Shaw) Leigh.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at 3:30 PM at the Clarkfield City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider memorials to the Heart Association or an organization of your choice.
