Pastor Louis Carl J. Rosin was born September 29, 1889, to Mr. Henry W. and Mrs. Albertine (Reimann) Rosin at Mapleton, Blue Earth County, Minnesota. Pastor Rosin was baptized on November 3, 1889, at Mapleton. On April 5, 1903 he renewed the baptismal promise when he was confirmed by Pastor Grabarkewitz at Good Thunder, Minnesota. He graduated from Concordia College, St. Paul, in 1912 and from Concordia Theological Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri, in 1915. He served under the Minnesota District Mission Board as Missionary-at-large in the Provinces of Manitoba and Western Ontario, Canada, and in Winnepeg, Manitoba, from 1917-1919. In 1917 he was married to Lillie Welkener and this union was blest with five sons and two daughters. In 1919 Pastor Rosin came to Campbell, Minnesota, and served there until 1927. In 1927 he accepted a call to Tyro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. During this time he served as Counselor and on various boards. He also served the Nicolai congregation at Canby, Minnesota, while at Boyd, Minnesota. In 1949 he accepted the pastorate at Easton, Minnesota, until his retirement in 1959. During his retirement he served in many vacancy capacities. On December 28, 1960, Mrs. Rosin was called to her eternal rest. In 1962 he married Mabel Voss and the two made their home in Campbell, Minnesota. While there his 50th Ordination Anniversary was observed by St. Paul's of Campbell. His wife Mabel passed to eternal rest in April of 1974 and since that time Pastor Rosin has made his home with his children. On September 24, 1979, he was called to his eternal rest at Mankato, Minnesota. He is survived by one brother, Lorenz Rosin of Howard Lake, Minnesota; two daughters, Clara (Mrs. Wilfred) Laechelt of Mankato, Minnesota, Norma (Mrs. DeForest) Hartfiel of New Ulm, Minnesota; five sons, Wilbert of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Werner of Kaiserslautern, Germany, Walter of Concordia, Missouri, Martin of Luverne, Minnesota, David of Wells, Minnesota; 23 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Tyro Township. To God belongs the glory. A SERVICE OF PRAISE AND THANKSGIVING Pastor Louis Carl J.
