Palmer B. Moen was born December 18, 1911, in Baxter Township, Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota, to Olaf and Emily (Agre) Moen. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and a lifelong member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Baxter. On May 31, 1944, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Runyon of Clarkfield, Minnesota. He was engaged in farming all of his life. He lived in Baxter Township up until the last three months, when he and his wife moved to Willmar, Minnesota, due to his failing health. Palmer died Wednesday evening, February 20, 1980, at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the age of 68 years, 2 months and 2 days. Palmer was preceded in death by his parents, Olaf and Emily; one sister Pearl; two brothers, J.M. (Mike), and Clarence; and one daughter Becky Kae, who died in infancy. Survivors include his wife Marjorie; two sons: Wesley of Texas and DuWayne of Montevideo, Minnesota; three grandchildren: Carson Moen and Rebecca and Nicholas Moen; two brothers, Orville of Boyd, Minnesota, and Rueben of Dawson, Minnesota; two sisters: Minerva Kise of Montevideo, Minnesota and Wanda Feist of St. Cloud, Minnesota.
