September 19, 1875 – September 19, 1963
Otto Reinhold Steinke was born in Province, Germany, on September 19, 1875, the son of Gustav Steinke and Augusta (Reich) Steinke. He came to America with his parents at the age of four and one-half years to Blue Earth County, Minnesota. The family then lived on rented farms in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, where he grew to manhood on the Steinke farm now occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Kopitzke. On November 7, 1904, he was united in marriage to Alvina Koepp at Zion Lutheran Church of Tyro Township by Rev. August Hillger. Mr. Steinke broke sod on the farm on which he lived all his married life. He departed this life early Monday morning, September 16, 1963, and was laid to rest on the day of his 88th birthday, September 19, 1963. He is survived by his wife and three children; two daughters-in-law; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; two sisters: Mrs. Hedwig Struck and Alma (Mrs. Hugo Kopitzke).
