Otto Kompelien was born in Westerheim Township of Lyon County, Minnesota, on November 7, 1884. He was the son of Ole and Seri (Thon) Kompelien. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Lucas Church. He was the last of a family of 12 sisters and brothers. He farmed in Lyon County all his life, except for some time spent homesteading in South Dakota. He was married to Theoline Anderson on February 2, 1915. To this union one daughter, Arline, was born. Otto remained active and lived on his farm in Westerheim Township until he entered the Minneota Nursing Home in the spring of 1975. He passed away on December 10, 1975, at the age of 91 years. Survivors include his daughter, Arline (Mrs. Arthur Pasche) of Hoffman, Minnesota; three grandchildren: Darline (Mrs. Donald Molde) of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, Lee Miller of Cottonwood, Minnesota, and Scott Miller of North St. Paul, Minnesota; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, four sisters, seven brothers and his parents. IN MEMORY OF OTTO O.
