Oswald Kaupang was born October 24, 1881, in Minnesota, to Ole and Olive (Aas) Kaupang. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith on November 13, 1881, by Rev. Ole Lokensgaard and confirmed on November 11 at St. Peter Lutheran Church near Boyd, Minnesota. He grew up and spent his early life in this community except for about 15 years when he had a homestead at Stanley, North Dakota. On November 12, 1948, he married Mabel Hanson. To this union were born two sons, Curtis Roger, who is now 15, and Jerry Wendell, age six. Oswald passed away February 2, 1965, at the Clarkfield Nursing Home, at the age of 83 years. He leaves to mourn his death, his wife Mabel; his two sons, Curtis and Jerry; two brothers, Elmer and Oliver of Montevideo; and two sisters: Clara (Mrs. Al Keeno) of Montevideo, and Nora (Mrs. Carl Keeno) of Redwood Falls, Minnesota; as well as numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Obea, Emma and Anne; and three brothers: Carl, Olaf and Eddie. IN MEMORY OF OSWALD T.
