Oscar Lokensgard was born August 18, 1901 on a farm near Delavan, Minnesota, to Ole and Caroline (Wroolie) Lokensgard. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. Oscar attended a country school near Delavan eight years and continued his education for four years at the Lutheran Normal School at Madison, Minnesota. He married Verna Kirkeby on November 9, 1929, at Mankato, Minnesota. They have lived in Boyd, Minnesota, since that time. Oscar taught Country School near Boyd for 23 years and then became Postmaster in Boyd, an occupation he held for 27 years until his retirement in 1970. He is survived by his wife, Verna; sisters: Mrs Hulda Garrettsee of Montevideo, Minnesota, and Mrs. Louise Kasperson of Bloomington, Minnesota; as well as several nieces and nephews.
