Oscar Kjos was born April 8, 1880, in Friendship township to the parents Gunder and Marie (Gullickson) Kjos. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. On February 5, 1921, he was united in marriage to Anna Hoel. To this union three children were born: Wilfred of Seattle, Washington, Roland of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Joyce (Mrs. Wendell Peterson) of Clarkfield. Mr. Kjos had been active until the last two years when his health began failing. On Monday morning, September 22, 1952, he suffered a cerebral hemorrhage from which he did not recover. He had reached the age of 72 years, 5 months, 13 days. Besides his wife and children he leaves to mourn, two brothers, Anton of Granite Falls and Fred of Boyd; one sister, Mrs. Stina Kittelson of Clarkfield, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, one sister and four brothers. Mr. Kjos was a kind and loving husband and father and a congenial neighbor.
