Oscar Eric Gustavson was born June 23, 1894, in Sweden to parents Gustav and Charlotte Jansson. On June 23, 1929, he was united in marriage to Valborg Josephine Noren. They lived and farmed the family farm until 1951. Three children were born to Oscar and Valborg, Muriel, Walter, and Floyd. In 1951, they retired from farming and moved to Montevideo, Minnesota, where they resided until 1958. At that time, they moved to a farm northwest of Boyd for the following six years. In 1963, they built a new home on their farm northwest of Clarkfield and there they lived for many years. Oscar passed away at Unity Medical Center, Fridley, Minnesota on January 2, 1985, at age 90. He leaves his wife, Valborg; daughter, Muriel (and Norman) Andrews; sons, Walter and Floyd (and Muriel); and five grandchildren, Grai Andreason, Greg Andrews, Noreen (Andrews) Monroe, Gene Gustavson, and Erica Thiel.
