Oscar Sanford "Bud" Dotseth was born on March 27, 1920, in Clarkfield, Minnesota, to Oscar and Susie (Oraas) Dotseth. He was baptized and confirmed at Spring Creek Lutheran Church of Normania Township. He was raised on a farm south of Clarkfield by his parents. Oscar enjoyed growing up with his parents and brothers: Owen, Raymond, and Nuel; and sisters: Evalyn, Irma, Esther, Carol, and Wanda. Oscar graduated from Clarkfield High School. Oscar was united in marriage to Gretchen Feist on February 24, 1946. Together they raised their family: son, Robert; daughter, Connie; and foster son, Bill Kruckman. Oscar farmed briefly and then worked as a carpenter and owned a cabinet shop in Clarkfield. In 1969 he and Gretchen moved to Anoka, Minnesota. He continued his trade of carpentry, working for New Horizan Homes and the Norco Window Company until his retirement. Oscar Sanford Dotseth passed away on Monday morning, June 28, 1993, at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, at the age of 73 years. He is survived by his wife, Gretchen of Andover, Minnesota; son, Robert, and his children, Lisa, Douglas, and Jennifer of Andover, Minnesota; daughter, Connie, and son-in-law Albie Gilsrud and their children, Jamie and Tina of Austin, Minnesota; and son, Bill Kruckman and daughter-in-law Vicki, and their children, Benjamin and Joshua of Dawson, Minnesota. He is also survived by four sisters: Evalyn (Mrs. Murl Isaacs) of Hazel Run; Esther (Mrs. Ray Barret) of Marshall, Minnesota; Carol Taylor of Edina, Minnesota; and Wanda (Mrs. Clifford Remmen) of Minnetonka, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents: Oscar and Susie Dotseth; three brothers: Raymond, Nuel, and Owen; and sister, Irma Lampkin.
