Orville Clifford Moen was born on November 7, 1909 in Baxter Township, Lac qui Parle County, MN to parents Olaf and Emelie (Agre) Moen. He was baptized as a young boy and later confirmed. He married Lucille G. Johnson on March 8, 1939 in Codington County, SD. This marriage was blessed with two sons: Larry and Richard. Orville and Lucille farmed their entire life. Lucille passed away in January of 1986. Orville was living in Boyd until November of 1998. At that time, he entered the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital and then Luther Haven Nursing Home. Orville passed away at Luther Haven early Saturday morning, December 12, 1998 at the age of 89 years, 1 month, and 6 days. He is survived by his sons: Larry (and wife Barbara) Moen of Bloomington, MN and Richard (and wife Lois) Moen of Anoka, MN. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Christopher Moen, Catherine Woodhouse, Kimberli Kuhlmann, and Richard Moen and four great grandchildren: Mariah and Katarina Kuhlmann and Shauney and Andrew Moen.
